Webster Five Chairman of the Board, Daniel Ivascyn, retires, Stephen Charniak to replace him
(June 2, 2020) Webster, MA – Webster Five announced on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 that Daniel W. Ivascyn has retired from his position as Chairman of the Board at Webster Five and that the Board of Directors has appointed Stephen H. Charniak, succeeding him in this role.
Dan Ivascyn had a long and storied 46 year history with Webster Five. After serving as a teller in the 1960’s, Ivascyn re-joined Webster Five in 1980 as a Corporator and was elected as a Trustee in 1984. He served on the Auditing Committee from 1986 until 1996 when he was then appointed as a member of the Executive Committee. He has served as the bank’s Chairman of the Board for the past 14 years. Ivascyn also served as the Superintendent of Oxford Public Schools until he retired in 2003, and was also an associate professor at Nichols College, teaching education and business management courses.
Steve Charniak’s 36 year history with Webster Five has included roles on the Audit, ALCO, Compensation and Executive Committees, and he was appointed to the Board of Directors in 1989. He has served in the role of Vice Chairman of the Board for the past 9 years. Charniak is the owner of Charniak Insurance Agency in Webster, Massachusetts. The Charniak Insurance Agency is a family owned, full service insurance agency that has served the surrounding community for over 50 years.
