Monica brings over 26 years of experience in providing financing solutions to both for-profit and non-profit businesses. With her knowledge of commercial, industrial, real estate and enhanced loan products (SBA, Mass Development, PCI), she looks for ways to add value when meeting her customers’ and prospective customers’ objectives. In addition to her banking experience, Monica was a CFO of a non-profit organization herself, as well as a Crain’s New York “Business 40 under 40” and a Worcester Business Journal “Power 50” honoree, so she understands both sides of the business banking relationship.
Prior to joining Webster Five, Monica was an Auto Group Credit Officer for Santander Bank and an SBA Credit Approval Officer for Chase Bank in Dallas, TX. She has held similar roles at Bank of America, Fleet Boston and BankBoston First Community Bank in Boston, MA, Fall River, MA, and New York, NY. Monica earned her B.A. in Finance from The University of Oklahoma and her M.B.A from Simmons College Graduate School of Management. She currently serves as the Executive Director/ Treasurer of the Webster Five Foundation.

What are you passionate about in your role? I really enjoy learning about every customer’s business and becoming their trusted advisor. I try to earn their trust by providing excellent service and the right products to help them achieve growth, profitability, and sustainability.
What are some of your hobbies and interests? I love traveling and spending time with family and friends. I also have a rather eclectic collection of Mickey Mouse memorabilia, timepieces, and writing instruments. I’m also interested in helping to impact change in the lives of children and women, improving the lives of those living in poverty, providing affordable housing, and improving financial literacy and educational parity within the community, in addition to ensuring that all businesses have access to capital funding.
Are you involved with any community causes or organizations? I serve on several non-profit boards within the Worcester community, including as Board President of Edward Street Child Services, Assistant Vice President of the Board of YWCA Central Massachusetts, Board Clerk for WAMS Works, Finance Committee member of the Regional Environmental Council, and an Advisory Board Member for EforAll of Worcester. I am a Corporator of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation and an alum of The Partnership, a Boston based leadership organization, and a Rockefeller Fellow, a New York City based executive leadership program.
Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself? I was accepted to the U.S. Naval Academy.
